Nico Rosberg feels it will be "very tough" for Mercedes to continue their run of pole positions in Montreal on Saturday.
Mercedes have dominated Saturday afternoons this season with Lewis Hamilton grabbing pole position at the Chinese Grand Prix.
However, after that it has been all Rosberg.
The German has three successive pole positions, two of which put him at the head of an all-Mercedes front row.
Whether the team can continue that run in Canada remains to be seen, although Rosberg reckons it won't be easy.
The 27-year-old finished Friday's second practice fifth on the timesheets, roughly four-tenths down on pace-setters Fernando Alonso and Hamilton.
"It looks quite tight out there in general," Rosberg, who won the last race in Monte Carlo, told Autosport.
"Fortunately I'm feeling good with the car in the rain and the dry. From that point of view it doesn't really matter, but it's still going to be very tough.
"Maybe this track has brought things closer together because it's very different, with lower downforce."
