Hispania won't race in Australia

Hispania will not take part in the Australian GP after race stewards denied their request to be allowed to race due to 'exceptional circumstances'.

The team had asked the stewards for special dispensation to participate after neither Narain Karthikeyan nor Tonio Liuzzi were able to post a time within 107% of that of pole sitter Sebastian Vettel, thus failing to qualify for the race.

Having considered HRT's request, the stewards announced on Saturday that they would not be granting their request.

The decision ends a disappointing and rather embarrassing weekend for the team which saw them try out their new model for the first time during Friday's third practice.
