Prac Two: Vettel In Imperious Form

Sebastian Vettel's bid to win the Hungarian GP for the first time got off to a good start on Friday as he set the fastest time in both practice sessions.

As if winning two of the last three races is not enough proof that he is in the form of his life, the defending World Champion set the fastest time of 1:22.723 in FP1 at the Hungaroring in the morning despite being on the track for only 30 minutes.

He followed it up with an even faster 1:21.264 on the softer compounds later in the afternoon with his team-mate Mark Webber once again finishing second to ensure another Red Bull 1-2.

The Australian was just 0.044 off Vettel's pace with Romain Grosjean putting his Lotus E21 third, just ahead of Ferrari duo Fernando Alonso in fourth and Felipe Massa in fifth.

The Mercedes drivers, like most other drivers, focused quite a lot on the longer runs later in the session and Lewis Hamilton's 1:21.802 put him sixth with Nico Rosberg just 0.189 off his pace.

They were followed by Kimi Raikkonen, Jenson Button and Adrian Sutil. Force India's Sutil was the only driver in the top 10 who was more than one second off Vettel's pace, but he was just a mere 1.040 off his German compatriot's pace.
