No GP2 role for Frijns

Robin Frijns has ruled out a possible GP2 drive to go along with his role as Caterham's reserve driver.

Dropped by Sauber last season, the former Formula Renault 3.5 Champion has headed over to Caterham for this year's Championship.

Signed as the team's official reserve driver, the Dutch driver says he won't be looking to take a duel role this season.

"I'm concentrating fully on my test role for Caterham," Frijns told Autosport.

"So I will do a few FP1s and try to help the team as much as I can."

He was also on hand to help the team at Jerez this last, scheduled to drive on Thursday.

However, in yet another problematic day for Caterham and Renault, he managed just 10 laps without a time.

"You're not enjoying a day when you're driving 60km, but I enjoyed my day with the team," he said.

"I had some fun even though there wasn't a lot of running. They worked hard."
