It may have taken 18 races, but Valtteri Bottas is finally off the mark in Formula One.
The Finn enjoyed a glorious weekend in the United States as he started ninth on the gird - only the second time in his short F1 career that he made it into Q3.
Instead of buckling under the pressure on race day, he rose to the occasion and secured Williams' best result of the season as he finished eighth.
Needless to say, the rookie was over the moon with his display at the Circuit of The Americas in Austin on Sunday afternoon.
"It is a great day and I am very happy for the team," he told Sky Sports F1.
"We have finally got some points for me as well, four points. We did a really good job today, the strategy, the race start, the pitstop, everyone from the team did such a good job so I really felt that we deserved it."
While his team-mate Pastor Maldonado has a massive moan about the car after qualifying on Saturday, Bottas was impresses with the machinery he had.
"It feels much better," he added. "Once we have more speed like this weekend, then people will see more what you can do in the car and these positions are starting to get closer and they are what I am aiming for and what we are aiming for together. Of course we want to be further ahead, but I think for now we need to be very happy."
