'Formula One IPO still on the cards'

Thursday 14-March-2013 04:36

Bernie Ecclestone says a decision will be made in the next "there months or so" about floating F1 on the stock market.

Last year plans were in place for Formula One's owners, with private equity firm CVC as the main stakeholder, to float the sport on the Singapore stock exchange with an IPO worth $3 billion.

The plans did not come to fruition in light of the world's economic woes, however, Ecclestone says it could still take place.

"Last year I thought that the markets were not ready, but now it is getting more likely that there is an opportunity," the F1 supremo told the official F1 website.

"In the next three months or so somebody will have to decide yes or no."
