Button confident of British rebound

Jenson Button believes McLaren will be back inside the top-ten in Britain after their run of 64 races in the points ended in Canada.

The Woking team was unable to recover from a disappointing qualifying performance, lacking the pace needed to fight back.

Sergio Perez started the race P12 with Button 14th on the grid, however, after 70 laps they were 11th and 12th respectively.

The point-less race brought an end to McLaren's impressive run of 64 grands prix inside the points.

Button, though, is confident Montreal was just a one-off blip in the team's record as he expects they will rebound at Silverstone.

"We finished outside the points and we have a lot of work to do," said the Brit.

"We've got to get our act together and improve.

"Are we going to be quicker at Silverstone? Yes.

"We had parts here that didn't work on this circuit but will work at Silverstone.

"Soon we'll start to pick up more points. We'll not be on the podium but we'll get more points."

Summing up his afternoon, the 2009 World Champion said: "I have never been so pleased to get out of a car, it wasn't a great race for us today, this is a track which is usually good to us but.

"We want bigger things than one or two points, all goods things come to an end.

"I was told to say, if we had got one or two points we would be disappointed.

"We were lapped easily and just didn't have the pace."

Paddy Power has dropped Button to 300/1 to win the title after losing more ground to Sebastian Vettel in the standings.
