BBC confirms 2014 broadcast plans

Saturday 21-December-2013 12:35

The BBC will broadcast nine live races during the 2014 season with Sky once again showing all nine grands prix.

Pay channel Sky has exclusive rights to the season-opening Australian Grand Prix over the weekend of March 16 with the BBC's live coverage starting from the next race in Malaysia two weeks later.

The BBC will then skip the next two races and resume their coverage with the start of the European season in Spain on May 11 before moving to Canada, meaning the Monaco Grand Prix will only have a highlights package.

Other races include the British GP at Silverstone, Belgium, Italy, Japan, the inaugural Russian GP in Sochi and the season-ending Abu Dhabi GP.

11 May: Spain

8 June: Canada
