Bulls expect 'different type of racing'

Tuesday 28-January-2014 11:58

Christian Horner concedes Formula One could be a game of strategy this season due to the new regulations.

This season drivers will be limited to just 100kgs of fuel per grand prix prompting many to fear the end of flat-out running.

But while that may prove to be true, Horner has downplayed concerns, saying it will just be a different kind of racing.

"I think the new regulations are going to have an effect on racing this season," the Red Bull team boss explained.

"It will be a different type of racing because fuel economy is now crucial as we are limited to 100kgs of fuel to start a grand prix with.

"It will be a much more tactical approach to the racing and that's going to be another challenge for the teams and drivers.

"It will take a few races for the racing to settle down before people work out the optimum strategy to run a grand prix at.

"It will probably take four or five races until we see a partner start to emerge."
