McLaren undecided on 2015 line-up

Eric Boullier has refused to comment on whether Jenson Button will be re-signed amidst rumours McLaren are chasing Fernando Alonso.

Not for the first time this season, Alonso has been linked to a return to McLaren.

According to Telegraph Sport, the double World Champion has "become disillusioned with life at Ferrari" and could be persuaded to head back to Woking.

Added to that, "the team have also opened very tentative dialogue with Lewis Hamilton" as they hope to take advantage should the Brit lose the title to Nico Rosberg and opt to leave Mercedes.

All that mounts to pressure on Button, who the newspaper claims is the most likely of the current McLaren team-mates to be dropped.

Boullier, though, isn't commenting on the matter.

"It is a question where I cannot say yes and I cannot say no," the team's Racing Director said during a McLaren Mercedes phone-in when asked about Button's future.

"We are lucky to have two drivers who want to commit to us for the future. We have some contractual options we can pick up, so we are not in a rush to decide our future driver line-up.

"We are evaluating and assessing every strategy for the future."

Pressed specifically on Kevin Magnussen and his chances of securing a second season, Boullier said: "Even after Austria I was in his room just to have a chat with him.

"You know, you need to balance the freedom you give them with making sure they feel the support they need to develop as a driver.

"I still monitor [the situation] carefully."
