Team principal Marco Mattiacci insists Kimi Raikkonen still has the "utmost confidence and support" from everyone at Ferrari.

The Finn has struggled on his return to the Italian outfit this season and has constantly been outperformed by team-mate Fernando Alonso both in qualifying and in races.

He is 12th in the standings after scoring just 19 points with a best a finish of P7, which is in stark contrast to Alonso's fourth place with 97 points.

Despite finishing outside the points in Germany over the weekend, Raikkonen revealed that "the car felt much better here - more to my liking - I could drive it more as I wanted and it started to feel nice".

He has also received the backing of Mattiacci.

"I think he knows what he can do better," the Italian is quoted as saying by

"It's not up to me, he's a professional driver. He won a World Championship with Ferrari. So he's motivated, he knows that there's [room for] improvement. He will see Fernando ahead, he sees that basically it's a tough moment but we are all together in this. And he has the utmost confidence and support from Ferrari."

With Raikkonen struggling, there have been calls on Ferrari to promote academy driver Jules Bianchi in 2015, but Mattiacci said: "Kimi is the driver that we need. We need to get more points, but he is the driver that we need."
