Magnussen not interested in Massa talks

Friday 25-July-2014 13:21

Kevin Magnussen has drawn the line under his collision with Felipe Massa in Germany and insists he's not interested in clear-the-air talks.

Williams driver Massa has made a lot of noise in the past week after he and Magnussen crashed out at the first corner at Hockenheim.

First he criticised the Dane for being reckless and then he lashed out at the stewards after it emerged they were investigating him and not the McLaren driver over the incident.

"If the stewards are thinking like that, I don't know who they are taking to be stewards," the Brazilian said.

He also said he would like to take time out to have a word with Magnussen, who has received the backing from his McLaren team, but the rookie insists he's moved past the incident.

Asked whether it was worth talking to Massa, Magnussen replied: "No, it's done. We are here in Hungary and not in Germany any more.

"It happened and it's good no-one got hurt, especially him because he was on his roof and it looked bad. The most important thing is he's all right.

"Whoever was at fault is not really something I get in to. It's up to the stewards to judge and he was reported to the stewards, I wasn't.

"From their view I didn't do anything wrong."

Despite the stewards' report, Massa insisted Magnussen turned into him, but the Dane took a different view.

"What I did was get a great launch, got on the inside of Valtteri Bottas (Massa's team-mate), but not quite enough to have him in the corner," added Magnussen.

"Obviously I had to back out of that and then it (the accident) happened. I'm not sure I would have done anything different.

"You learn from these things and if it's your fault or not it's still experience and something you remember."
