Jenson Button feels there is "no reason" to change his focus from Formula 1 to another racing series as he chases another season with McLaren.
The 34-year-old is one of the oldest drivers on this year's grid and has acknowledged that he is in the final stages of his Formula 1 career.
However, Button is not yet ready for it to be over and is hoping to sign a new contract with McLaren that will keep him on the grid in 2015.
"Right now, my interest is to race in F1," said the 2009 World Champ.
"You have a tough day and it hurts like hell because you want to be competitive and fighting, but then you have a reasonable qualifying and you are back on track.
"You want to race forever.
"In F1 the emotions are all over the place. It is highs, it is lows, never a middle.
"I've lived my life like that for a long time and I want to continue living my life like that - hopefully with more highs than lows.
"I'm young, I'm fit and I'm enjoying what I do for a living so there's definitely no reason to want to change."
