Rossi: I will get my chance

Saturday 30-August-2014 10:50

Alexander Rossi remains philosophical about his Spa disappointment, but insists he will soon get a chance to take part in a full F1 race.

Just a few weeks after swapping his Caterham back-up role for a Marussia one, the American was promoted to race driver for the Belgian Grand Prix with the team revealing that they made the change due to "contractual issues" with Max Chilton.

However, barely 24 hours later Chilton was back in for the Belgian GP after the issues were resolved with Rossi making way after Free Practice One.

Naturally the 22-year-old was downcast after Spa, but he is determined to bounce back and eventually drive on a Sunday.

"I don't think it was as hard as you would expect because it (the chance) came so quickly and went away in the same way," said Rossi.

"I wanted to race but at the end of the day there was nothing I could do it about it, so there was no point complaining or anything.

"That is the way it goes, it is the sport we are involved in, and we will be back very soon.

"I feel I will get my chance. It is something that is coming. When? I don't know.

"It might come out of the woodwork, like last weekend, or it might be more of a planned thing.

"But I do feel very confident I will be in a grand prix race seat for a whole weekend very soon."
