10 Great F1 Xmas Presents

Thursday 12-December-2013 22:04

There is so much F1 'stuff' available these days that you should never be stuck for a present. Here's a selection of what you can buy for the F1 fan(s) in your life this Christmas.

For the Kimi Raikkonen fan in your life, the team radio message that has become almost as popular as KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON

How about a little light reading in the dark winter days. Who better to turn to than the master of mischief in the pitlane

For a more serious read, there is no better sports journalist writing about F1 than Richard Williams and if you want to read just one book about the passing of motorsport's finest driver, then this is it.

Now, moving on to a lighter subject area. How about something that you won't be able to find officially 'used' on eBay? Ever. Yes, it's the McLaren rocket red 2013 victory t-shirt. Even if they'd had a podium t-shirt they wouldn't have been able to use it in 2013. Not surprisingly, it's discounted (like most of the season really).

Force India might not have broken into the top five this year (more thanks to the change of tyres than anything else) but they still had some better designed kit than some of the top five teams. And whereas you can often buy Ferrari gear down at the market, Force India is a bit more exclusive. (Andrew Davies loves his Orange-Arrows team hat for this reason)

They've resurrected the old favourite, the Goodyear Tyre table (in the old days they were bigger and fatter and you could put more drinks on them), in the form of the Pirelli table. But we particularly like the brake disc clock. One would look great on the wall in the office, Michelle...

In the run-up to Christmas all the major games companies have their latest product out, i.e. Call of Duty IV, for the Playstation 4, so it's not really a big surprise that Sebastian vettel should crank out his latest trophy-winning T-shirt, Sebastian Vettel IV. There may have been the multi-million pound investment like Call of Duty, to get Sebastian Vettel IV, but disappointingly, the product is almost the same as it was last year. And the year before.

The most bought of all the F1 brands is of course Ferrari, almost certainly the biggest team brand in sport. Barcelona in football? the New York Yankees in baseball? We doubt it. Ferrari has such a product range that you can buy a key ring for £5 or a whole car for £200,000 - try matching that with your replica shirts, eh. And talking about replica shirts...
