Massa's confidence 'not' dented

Felipe Massa is adamant his Monaco GP accidents will not affect his confidence, adding that he is "fine".

The Ferrari driver suffered two massive crashes during the Monaco Grand Prix weekend.

The first took place in final practice and saw the Brazilian smack the barriers hard with the left side of the car on the approach to Ste Devote before hitting the tyre wall nose first.

Just 24 hours later he suffered a similar crash with the medics quickly on hand, putting Massa in a neck brace before taking him to the hospital for checks.

Ferrari later revealed different causes for the two crashes with the first down to driver error while a suspension failure was to blame for the second.

Speaking during Thursday's press conference for the Monaco GP, Massa insisted that the back-to-back crashed had not dented his confidence.

"No, for sure not," said the 32-year-old.

"On the television the accidents looked very similar, but they were completely different.

"The first one I just locked the wheels and went straight, and for the second I had a problem with the suspension.

"Overall I'm fine. I just felt a bit of pain in my neck after because the crashes took place in the same place and in the same direction.

"But it was just muscles. I'm fine, everything is fine."
