Luca: Ferrari will win very soon

On the back of a week of upheaval at Ferrari, president Luca di Montezemolo has issued a rallying cry, saying the team will "win very soon."

On Monday, the Scuderia outfit parted ways with beleaguered team boss Stefano Domenicali.

The Italian had led Ferrari since taking over from Jean Todt in 2008, however, won just a single title during his tenure and that was the Constructors' in his very first season.

Falling on his sword, Ferrari announced that Marco Mattiacci, who had headed Ferrari's North American division, would take the reins.

The change, who comes on the back of a dismal ninth and tenth place finish for Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen in Bahrain, has inspired di Montezemolo who believes Ferrari will return to form sooner rather than later.

"We will win very soon," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Now we all must roll up our sleeves in order to be competitive again. I expect a great response."

As for the Mattiacci, di Montezemolo reckons that while being Ferrari's team boss is a "big job", he will "stand by" the new appointment.

He added: "I will help him, like I have done in the past I will be closer to F1, I will spend more time there."

And, as to be expected, the Ferrari president hit out at the new regulations, saying he "will now allow these gentle to ruin" Formula One for Ferrari.
