Bernie Ecclestone believes having Kimi Raikkonen on the Formula One grid is good for the team he is racing for and good for the sport.
Having made his return to Formula One in 2012 with Lotus, Raikkonen impressed many in the paddock.
However, it was his form this season that really caught Ecclestone's attention.
Starting the Championship with a race victory in Australia, Raikkonen added a further seven podium results to his tally.
His season, though, was cut short when the Finn, who had well documented money trouble with his Lotus team, sat out the final two races needing back surgery.
"This year I suppose I have to call Kimi the star driver, with the equipment he had," GPUpdate.net reports Ecclestone as having said a foreword to the official 2013 season review.
"I think he was motivated on hope that he was going to get paid.
"He's a good guy to have in a team, good for us, good for the team. He's super, he's a racer."
Raikkonen will be back in action next season but with Ferrari.
