Lotus becomes the final Formula Team to start testing their 2014 car when the new E22 hits the Jerez tarmac on Friday.
Lotus decided not to take part in the first official pre-season test at the same track last week in order to have more time working on the car behind closed doors.
Since that work is now completed, the Enstone team is allowed to test the car during a filming day at the Andalucian circuit.
However, they are only allowed to run a maximum of 100km and may only use demonstration tyres during the session.
"Finally back to the track work, planning a filming day in Jerez today. Looking forward to drive the new E22," Pastor Maldonado revealed via his Twitter feed.
The Lotus run at Jerez will arguably be followed more closely than filming days are generally due to the trouble Renault - which supplies the engines to both Lotus and Red Bull - had in Jerez last week.
Red Bull only managed to complete 21 laps during the four-day test and struggled with its power unit throughout.
Lotus are expected to make further announcements regarding the E22 later on Friday.
