Grosjean hails Lotus' team spirit

Romain Grosjean admits the past few months have been tough for Lotus, but he believes the fact that everyone is pulling in the same direction has helped.

At the same stage last season the Enstone squad were challenging the likes of Red Bull, Mercedes and Ferrari for race victories, but Grosjean and his new team-mate Pastor Maldonado have struggled so far this campaign. The pair are yet to pick up any points and have four retirements between them.

Despite the problems with the car, Grosjean believes they have made major progress off the track and he believes it is down to the unity of the team.

"At least we don't have the problems that we could face in the past - which is a good advantage especially in a tough situation," he told Autosport.

"We work as hard as we can together and, of course, when you come from two successful years and you get to a more difficult season, it can be quite different.

"But everyone is trying as hard as they can to get the car as good as we can to move forward, and not blame something he shouldn't.

"We are moving forward and staying forward, united, and at the end we are all in the same boat."
