Sergey Sirotkin will have his first taste of F1 next month when he takes part in a demonstration run at the Sochi circuit.
Sirotkin is expected to make his Formula One debut next season with Sauber after the F1 team agreed a sponsorship deal with several Russian backers.
Sirotkin, who turns 18 on Saturday, paid his first visit to the team earlier this week when he spent time at the factory in Hinwil.
The Russian youngster not only had a seat-fitting at the time in preparation for his September 27th demo but also a lesson in how a F1 steering wheel works.
"My visit to the Sauber F1 Team headquarters was busy," he said.
"I learned a lot about the team and many other things. I met the engineers and learned about the car and what happens over a race weekend.
"I am happy because, if you had told me six months ago that one day I would visit this workshop and meet this team, I would have never believed you. It's great. The dream is so close to becoming reality now."
Meanwhile Monisha Kaltenborn confirmed the demonstration run, which will take place at Russia's new track in Sochi.
"We are proud to be doing the demo run next month. It will be a historical moment when a Russian driver drives a Formula One car for the first time at the track in Sochi," she said.
