Bottas: More to come from Williams

Valtteri Bottas believes Australia was just the start of Williams' revival although mistakes meant the team could not show their true potential.

With Felipe Massa setting the pace in the final pre-season test, much was expected from Williams in Melbourne - and Bottas delivered.

Despite tagging the wall and breaking his wheel rim, resulting in an unscheduled pit stop, the Finn raced to fifth place scoring ten World Championship points.

It was a marked improvement on last season as in doing so he netted double the points scored by Williams the whole of last season.

"There are 18 races to prove what we can do," said Bottas told Autosport.

"It could have been better in Australia. There was nothing Felipe could have done [to avoid a first corner accident] and I made a mistake - so there is definitely more to come."

He added: "It is a different team now. Now we have more points than last year and the car is so much quicker compared to the others.

"I am really happy with what we have done over the winter and in the testing."

Looking ahead to the next season at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia, Bottas believes the track will suit his FW36 and its Mercedes engine.

"Malaysia will be a very different track," he said. "It's a bit more like a proper race track, rather than a special street circuit, which is bumpy and quite slippery surface.

"We do expect that we can really fight in the top six positions and I am very, very much looking forward."
