Christian Horner is adamant that Mark Webber will be a stronger driver next season after his troubles in 2011.
The Aussie had a difficult campaign, falling well short of the mark set down by his Championship-winning team-mate Sebastian Vettel.
However, he came good in Brazil, the final race of the season, beating the gearbox-stricken Vettel to the race victory, his first of the Championship.
"Mark drove well and thoroughly deserved that victory," Horner told the BBC.
"Mark's had a tough year, but he's kept his head down.
"He wanted to finish the year on a high after facing a driver in the form of his life and he's done that.
"I'm sure he'll come back stronger next year."
As for Vettel's troubles, he suffered a gearbox issue early in the grand prix and had to nurse his car home. However, he did so in second place.
"It was a difficult race for Sebastian. He had a gearbox problem form lap five but he kept it alive," said Horner.
