Red Bull unfazed by Kimi's salary

Christian Horner says Kimi Raikkonen's salary will not factor in the decision on whether to sign the Finn or the much cheaper Daniel Ricciardo.

The two have emerged as the frontrunners to replace Mark Webber at Red Bull Racing next season.

And while they come with vastly different levels of experience, they also come with very different wage bills.

Raikkonen is arguably one of the more expensive drivers on the grid whereas Toro Rosso's Ricciardo ranks as one of the lowest earners.

Horner, though, says salary is "not really an element in our-decision-making.

He told Autosport: "Of course, finances are always a factor but you can also contrast that with the difference between first and second or second and third or fourth is a significant amount in the Constructors' World Championship so the financial element of it, if you don't make the right decision, it's going to impact you anyway if you are not scoring points."
