Drivers: Give Rubens another year

As Rubens Barrichello awaits word on his future, at least two of his fellow F1 drivers have urged Williams to re-sign him.

Barrichello is without a contract for next year's Championship, which would be his 20th if the Brazilian can secure a race-seat.

There are, however, mixed feelings amongst his rivals as to whether he should stay or go.

Felipe Massa recently urged the 39-year-old to pack it in, saying he shouldn't be in a position where he has to pay smaller teams to let him drive for another year.

But while Massa reckons Barrichello's days should be numbered, reigning World Champ Sebastian Vettel would like to see the Brazilian stay on.

"It would be a real shame to lose Rubens for the future, because he belongs here," said Vettel.

"He has been here for a long time. Pretty crazy to imagine yourself to be around that long."

And the reigning World Champ is not the only driver rooting for Barrichello to remain on the grid.

"It's great that he still wants to race," said his former Brawn GP team-mate Jenson Button.

"I really hope he gets a drive next year. I hope he's racing next year. The hunger obviously is still there for Rubens."
