Rosberg 'expects' more from Red Bull

Friday 22-November-2013 19:08

Nico Rosberg believes Red Bull will fight back in qualifying after being outpaced by the Mercedes driver in Friday's practices.

Rosberg had the measure of his rivals in Friday's two practice sessions at the Interlagos circuit, setting the pace in the rain.

In the morning the German's early lap time proved unbeatable despite the track drying out a bit while in the afternoon he put in a late dash to edge Sebastian Vettel.

Rosberg finished up with a 1:27.306, which put him 0.225s up on the four-time World Champion.

"It generally felt good and it was a good day in the wet," he said.

"You don't know where the others are and you'd expect the Red Bulls to be quicker anyway and I don't know how much fuel they were running.

"But in general it looked like good pace and for me it can stay wet this weekend."

Asked whether pole position was within his grasp if qualifying took place in the wet, the 28-year-old said he felt confident about Merc's pace.

"It's too early to say that but I have a good shot at being right at the front in qualifying," he said.
