DC: I feel like a moving target

Monday 21st April 2008

David Coulthard is starting to feel a lot like a moving target after being involved in three accidents in three grands prix.

The first race of the season, Australia, saw the Scot bunted by Felipe Massa as the Brazilian tired to overtake for track position. Two races later Coulthard was again hit by another driver, although this time he was actually hit by two.

During the Bahrain GP, the Scot was involved in a first lap incident with Adrian Sutil, which resulted in a puncture, while 20 laps later he was hit by Jenson Button and again had to pit for repairs.

"I'm starting to feel a bit self conscious that a lot of incidents have involved me," Coulthard told SpeedTV.

But despite his own bad luck the Red Bull driver is impressed with the RB4, which has twice finished in the points this campaign.

"The positives are that in terms of engine power we're right there with Renault and we're beating them occasionally with Mark's results," he said. "The downsides are that I haven't scored any points."

The Scot, though, reckons that could change this weekend in Spain if Red Bull's aerodynamic upgrades given him the add boost of speed that he needs.

He added: "We just need lap time. Unless we unleash something we're just meandering in that mid-grid area."
