Ron: Drivers free to race in MonacoFriday 16th May 2008Ron Dennis has insisted that his drivers are free to race each other even in next weekend's Monaco GP.
The race takes place around the narrow streets of the Principality, which means accidents are a common thing during the 78-lap race.
And for that reason last year's grand prix saw McLaren issue orders for Lewis Hamilton not to try overtake team-mate Fernando Alonso.
The decision caused a rift in the McLaren camp, sparked a feud between the drivers that would continue throughout the remainder of the season, resulting in Alonso leaving the team.
This year, though, Lewis Hamilton has publicly asked his team boss let himself and new team-mate Heikki Kovalainen race fair and square even in Monaco.
And Dennis has granted his wish.
"The reality is we pride ourselves on providing quality to both drivers," the Brit told Reuters.
