Loss could cost tabloid £1million

Friday 25th July 2008

The News of the World's expose into Max Mosley's private life could end up costing the British tabloid nearly £1million.

In March this year that tabloid published a story about the FIA President's private sex life, earning them a trip to the London High Court as Mosley sued them for breach of privacy.

On Thursday a judge ruled in his favour, ording the News of the World to pay him £60,000 in damages.

However, given that they were also orded to pay for his defence as well as their own the costs of the story could come close to a million.

Not only did the newspaper wrack up a bill of £400,000 defending themselves but Mosley's legal fees are around £450,000.
