Not much was known about Japanese driver Sakon Yamamoto before he made his Super Aguri race-debut at the German Grand Prix.
Keen on an all-Japanese line-up, team boss Aguri Suzuki signed Yamamoto to replace French driver Franck Montagny, who himself had been called up to replace ousted driver Yuji Ide.
However, Yamamoto's time with the team was anything but successful and after 11 races it looked as if his F1 career has come to an end as he was relegated to test driver at the end of the season.
However, a shocking announcement in late July 2007 saw the Japanese driver given another chance at a F1 career with the Spyker driver, who called upon Yamamoto to replace the ousted Christijan Albers.
But whether this foray into F1 will be any more successful than his last disaster remains to be seen.
