Ron Dennis has hailed Lewis Hamilton's pole position for the Japanese GP as the best of his motor racing career.
With title rival Felipe Massa reduced to a lowly fifth on the grid, Hamilton stole a possibly critical advantage by delivering a blistering lap of 1:18.404 to take pole position by 0.240s from Massa's Ferrari team-mate Kimi Raikkonen.
Beaming with delight att he result, Dennis insisted that Hamilton's race strategy hadn't been compromised and declared: "I think that was the best pole of his life."
Speaking to ITV, the McLaren boss added: "It's a critical time and we've made no sacrifices of our race strategy, so it was a tremendous effort.
"We gave it absolutely everything through the whole of qualifying. He dug deep for that lap time and we're extremely pleased.
"It's a real team high. We'll enjoy the moment, but we're very focused on tomorrow."

"I can't say I didn't expect Lewis to get pole, what I didn't expect was Massa to be 5th...could the pressure be getting to him...Go Lewis, you deserve to be champion.."

"sss2512, i agree! every time mclaren or hammy do things right, they come out and claim "the best of my career" but in anyway, nothing ron dennis says can be taken seriously anymore... "
