Fry: Rubens deserves a win

Thursday 2nd July 2009

Brawn CEO Nick Fry is hopeful that Rubens Barrichello will soon be rewarded for his hard work with a race win.

The Brazilian has secured four podium places thus far in the season, having to settle for second place behind team-mate Jenson Button on three occasions, and Fry believes his driver deserves more.

"We've been delighted with Rubens's performance all through this year," Fry told Autosport.

"It would be lovely if we could get him on the top step of the podium.

"He is trying unbelievably hard. For someone who has been in grand prix racing for so long, his level of motivation is incredible. He is doing himself proud," Fry added.

Fry remains confident that Championship leader Jenson Button will return to his early season form at next weekend's German Grand Prix after a disappointing race at Silverstone in which the Brit finished sixth.

"When we get back to the more slow to medium speed circuits and hotter temperatures, normal service will be resumed," said Fry.

"Jenson's position at Silverstone is explained by his smooth driving style. The car was having difficulty generating tyre temperature, and because Jenson is even smoother than Rubens is, he suffered even more," he added.

"Excellent point Snake. My daily Rubhino reports did not mention that but I can certainly believe it. My souces just confirmed that Rubhino eats about 2 to 2.5 liters of pudding per day. That is too much in this reporters view."
