Red Bull have bid farewell to technical director Geoff Willis, who left the team in the wake of their British GP success.
Willis joined Red Bull mid-2007 and played a large role in their recent success, which has seen Sebastian Vettel bag two races this season, elevating Red Bull to second in the Constructors' Championship.
However, the former Williams, McLaren and BAR-Honda man has now left the team.
A team spokeswoman told Autosport that Willis had left "his job had become redundant."

"The economy continues to shed jobs. Lots of people have become "redundant" this year. Yet a person with his skills, and the rare ability to design a race winning F1 car, should not lose their job for that reason alone. There is something more here. "

"Last time Willis left a team mid-season (Honda) they spent 2.5 years in the doldrums"

"The new teams will be busy poaching talent where possible. Can't see Red Bull being a (really) long term opportunity for anyone anyway. They are a drinks company. They will get bored eventually.
