The Nurburgring could lose it's place on the F1 calendar pending the outcome of an FIA meeting during which it will be decided whether to strip Deutscher Motor Sport Bund E.V. (DMSB) of its position as Germany's sporting authority.
At present the DMSB, which is controlled by the Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club (ADAC), is the official FIA sanctioned motor racing body in Germany.
However, according to Autosport that could change when the FIA vote on October 7th in Paris to decide whether or not rival club Automobil von Deutschland (AvD) should be handed the honour.
Should the FIA's extraordinary general meeting rule in favour of the AvD, who own Germany's other F1 track Hockenheim, it could spell the end of the Nurburgring's stay in F1.
