Trulli: A podium could be possible in Britain

Friday 27th June 2008

Jarno Trulli is hopeful of bagging a second successive podium finish at next weekend's British GP but concedes it won't be an easy task.

The Toyota driver finished third in last week's French GP, clinching his first podium achievement since Spain 2005. It was a much-needed result for Toyota, moving the team to within a point of fourth placed Red Bull in the Constructors' Championship.

Now having been reminded of the taste of champagne Trulli is keen to take another sip when the F1 circus stops in Britain next weekend. However, he admits that a points-finish is a more realistic goal.

"We hope to be back again in the top ten and score points," Trulli told Autosport while testing at Silverstone this week.

"Obviously a podium finish is difficult but we have seen in Magny-Cours that it's possible in certain conditions. So we just have to come here and do our best and see the outcome of the race in the end."

As for the Constructors' Championship, Trulli reckons it's going to be closely fought battle that goes down to the wire.

"It's very tough, if you look at the lap times. We are there, together with Red Bull and Renault, but every race is a big battle," he said.

"We did very well last weekend, but in Canada Red Bull and Renault were stronger than us. So it depends on the circumstances, the conditions and the track."
