Ralf Schumacher appears to be another step closer to quitting Formula One for the German touring car series (DTM).
The former grand prix winner was once again in the Mercedes-Benz driver's seat during a three-day run at the Estoril circuit in Portugal.
Ralf is without a 2008 F1 race-seat after parting ways with Toyota at the end of last season.
The 32-year-old would not confirm that will be racing DTM, but admits he is enjoying himself.
"I don't want to say anything, but I would not be here if I did not find the driving a lot of fun," Ralf told German paper Bild.
"If we do co-operate, I will be in a 2007 car. This is my own desire, in order to get used to everything. And now I want to use every minute in order to get to know the machine."
Mercedes DTM chief Norbert Haug acknowledged that Schumacher might experience a few teething problems if he decides to switch to DTM.
"No-one should expect any miracles from him, because Formula One and DTM are two very different pairs of shoes," Haug said.
