Jon’s first job way back in the medieval times of 1987 featured a different type of horsepower, the equine kind, on a racing paper, before joining PA Sport in 1994. In the 1996 and 1997 seasons he reported from a selection of grands prix – strangely always with the same winner, Jacques Villeneuve, but never did get rewarded by the Canadian for being his lucky charm! Over the next years he regularly reported from a variety of motorsport events across the UK and around the globe – including F1 launches, WRC, ALMS and BTCC, and edited Martin Brundle’s F1 guide. His career then took him in the direction of other sports, mainly football, for the following decade and a half before proudly joining PlanetF1 just before the start of the 2020 season. One of his earliest F1 memories was watching John Watson win the 1981 British Grand Prix.
