Grosjean out of FP2 after earlier crash
Romain Grosjean’s Friday running at Silverstone is over with news that he’ll miss FP2 as he requires a new chassis.
The Frenchman became the first casuality of the new DRS zone at the British circuit as he did not close it in time and flew off the track at Turn 1.
Sliding through the gravel sideward, Grosjean hit the barriers hard.
He told his Haas team: “Car is destroyed. I’m very, very sorry guys.”
As such Grosjean now requires a new chassis and will not take part in FP2.
Chassis change required for @RGrosjean after his #FP1 crash.
He will not participate in #FP2 this afternoon. 😢
