Alfa Romeo put the official livery of their C38 on show to the world this morning ahead of the first test in Barcelona.

After buying Sauber earlier this year, the team enter Formula 1 in 2019 as Alfa Romeo Racing.

An exciting driver line-up comes with them, as veteran and former World Champion Kimi Raikkonen partners exciting Italian prospect Antonio Giovinazzi.

So, here is their 2019 challenger – the C38 – from all the angles.

Kimi Raikkonen looks rather unimpressed with something going on off-camera, but the C38 is our real focus, and while it bears many similarities to last year’s Alfa Romeo Sauber car, that red against white remains a striking combination. Note the halo is also red this year rather than white.

Them tyres do look rather comfortable. We get another great snap here of that much talked about front wing, where the flaps are extremely angled toward the C38 to direct the air outward around the front wheels.

Team principal Frederic Vasseur stands proud with his two drivers. Clever branding it’s worth pointing out with the race suits of Giovinazzi and Raikkonen promoting different Alfa Romeo car models.

Now you’re just showing off.

All smiles down at Alfa Romeo with testing almost ready to get underway.

But, when it did, this happened

Let’s hope things improve from here – we will put this one down to the excitement of the day for Kimi.
