Crashing out of FP1 in the wet at Monza, Sergio Perez says the blame belongs solely to Pirelli’s ineffective wet tyres.
Perez was one of three drivers to bring out the red flags in Friday’s opening practice for the Italian Grand Prix.
Running on the intermediate Pirellis at the time, the SportPesa Racing Point driver lost control on an out-lap.
Perez spun, hitting the barriers and damaging the front and rear of his RP19.

He blames the Pirelli tyres.
“There is no grip with them, they never warm up,” the Mexican told Motorsport.com.
“It was very, very hard to warm up the tyre, and then to find any grip was hard.
“Once you lose the rear end it’s hard, once you have a bit too much slip on the rear, it just goes.
“It’s pretty difficult. I’ll say that the tyres are not the easiest ones.”
