The provisional Italian Grand Prix grid

Monza and Spa given one-year extensions.
Charles Leclerc will start the Italian Grand Prix from pole position with rival young gun Max Verstappen at the very back of the grid.
Leclerc claimed pole in a shambolic Q3 at the Monza circuit as only two drivers, the Ferrari man and Carlos Sainz, managed a second flying lap such was the slow pace of the drivers’ out-laps as they all tried not be first on the track.
The Monégasque driver will start P1 ahead of Lewis Hamilton, who’s first attempt was good enough for second, with Valtteri Bottas and Sebastian Vettel on the second row of the grid.
Kimi Raikkonen drops out of the top ten as his Alfa Romeo required a new gearbox after he crashed in qualifying while Lando Norris, Pierre Gasly and Verstappen are at the back of the grid following engine changes.
Alfa Romeo chose to fit a new engine to Raikkonen’s car and will now start from the pit lane.
Verstappen, though, didn’t set a time in Q1 due to a loss of power meaning he races at the discretion of the stewards.
