Alfa Romeo have given fans an insight into on-board footage of a 2023 Formula 1 car for the first time, posting a video with Zhou Guanyu behind the wheel in Barcelona.
The team were taking part in their permitted pre-season shakedown and filming running in Spain at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya with their drivers, and posted a clip of Zhou exiting the pit lane in his new car as it took to the track for the first time.
Zhou, Valtteri Bottas and reserve driver Théo Pourchaire were all at the track for promotional work and to complete the two-day shakedown, with teams allowed up to 100km of running for filming purposes with their current cars.
The video showed two angles of Zhou as he left the pit lane in Barcelona to complete a practice start, lighting up his tyres as he put his foot down in the C43, which was launched earlier in the week.

Zhou’s helmet features a rabbit logo on it in 2023 among a purple and yellow colour palette, in reference to being the Year of the Rabbit in his native China, while Bottas released a colour scheme resembling the Finnish flag, with his helmet having been designed once again by his partner, Australian Olympic cyclist Tiffany Cromwell.
The team also posted a separate video with Bottas after their second filming day was complete, with the Finn sporting an Australian-inspired mullet and moustache he has had since last season ended.

“Another good day in Barcelona for the filming and shakedown day,” Bottas said. “Obviously, not many laps but a similar feeling to yesterday, that everything is working as expected, which is good, and we’re getting ready for the testing in Bahrain. Really enjoyed having a first test of the C43 and can’t wait to have some more.”
Pre-season testing will take place in Sakhir from 23-25 February, before the first round of the season takes place at the same circuit from 3-5 March.
