Fernando Alonso will be back behind the wheel of the McLaren in the first in-season test in Bahrain.
The two-time World Champion walked away from Formula 1 at the end of last season, but is keeping one toe in the water so to speak by being named as a McLaren ambassador for this campaign.
That role included some on-track duties, which will be begin next Tuesday after McLaren announced their driver line-up for Bahrain.
Alonso will drive on both Tuesday and Wednesday in the second MCL34 car which is being used to help Pirelli with their tyre testing.
He will get a full day behind the wheel on Tuesday before splitting duties with his good friend compatriot Carlos Sainz on Wednesday.

Sainz is also part of the McLaren programme, splitting duties with Lando Norris on Tuesday before Norris gets a full day to himself on Wednesday.
This could well be Alonso’s one and only chance to test the 2019 car unless Pirelli opt to do more tyre testing after the season finale in Abu Dhabi.
Alonso is said to be using his ambassador role as a chance to assess whether to make a return to the sport in 2020.
