Daniel Ricciardo names F1 driver he feels Taylor Swift would date…and it’s not Alonso

Daniel Ricciardo says he called ‘BS’ on rumours Fernando Alonso is dating Taylor Swift especially as he reckons the popstar would be more interested in Charles Leclerc.

Last month a rumour, one that it is fair to say was unfounded, swept through social media claiming double World Champion Alonso was dating Swift. The rumour was based purely on the timing of their break-ups from their long-term partners and some very speculative Twitter posts.

Seeing the humour in it, Alonso jumped on board as he posted on TikTok a video of himself playing on his phone with Swift’s ‘Karma’ in the background.

But while Sky Sports had a field day with her song titles as Alonso put in the laps at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix weekend, Ricciardo confidently says it was all “BS” as Alonso is not the driver Swift would date.

“Definitely not Alonso,” he told ESPN, “like I called BS on that from the start.

“I don’t know, I think someone who is certainly interested in in the arts, okay. She definitely strikes me as a pure artist.”

That led to Charles Leclerc’s name getting a mention, after all he recently released his first piano solo single.

“Yeah,” Ricciardo agreed, “Charles he got the old piano going the other day, I saw that.”

Explaining why Alonso wouldn’t be a likely partner for Swift, the Honey Badger said: “I think Alonso, I think he appreciates racing, probably only racing, I feel like any time I see him do anything it’s just racing so that’s why I kind of quickly cancelled him out of that conversation.”

Unfortunately for Leclerc, according to the gossip columns Swift has found love again with English singer-songwriter Matty Healy from the band ‘The 1975’.
