David Schumacher, son of former F1 driver Ralf, is the latest Schumacher to begin climbing the motor racing ranks.
The 19-year-old will join Charouz Racing System in F3 having contested the final double-header with Campos Racing at the end of the 2019 season.
He went onto race in the Macua Grand Prix with Charouz, the former Sauber Junior Team.
“I feel really happy and grateful to make the step up to FIA Formula 3 full-time with Charouz,” he said.
“I drove two events at the end of last year and that was good preparation for the season ahead.
“I got to learn more about the car, and that’s valuable as we don’t have many practice opportunities during race weekends.
“I think we can make a step forward this season and I will try and finish as high as possible.”

The German will be joined at Charouz by Brazilian Igor Fraga, winner of the inaugural FIA Gran Turismo Nations Cup esports event in 2018, and Finnish driver Niko Kari.
Schumacher’s step up into Formula 3 sees him become the latest Schumacher to climb the ranks with his cousin, Mick Schumacher, currently in Formula 2.
