F1 results: FP1 timings from Belgian Grand Prix practice

With practice time limited during the sprint weekend, teams took to the track for a rain-affected free practice session.

Ahead of qualifying late on this afternoon, the drivers would have been keen to get in as much preparation as possible but the wet conditions made life difficult for both them and the engineers.

There were few cars on the track in the opening stages but what little there were soon dived back into the garages with the rain increasing.

They eventually returned but drivers found the conditions treacherous, Zhou Guanyu scraping the wall during an off while Logan Sargeant brought out the red flag after his car refused to turn.

That was to be the last of the meaningful on-track action with many teams not willing to risk further incidents in increasingly poor weather.
