After online rumours spread over the weekend that Fernando Alonso and pop music superstar Taylor Swift were dating (yes, you have read that correctly), the two-time World Champion has responded in his own unique style.

A social media rumour about the two spread like wildfire after an anonymous Instagram message suggested they were dating, with them both having recently split up with their respective long-term partners.

This naturally sent different corners of the internet into a frenzy, with a myriad of posts on the matter ranging from multiple memes about what a paddock appearance with the two of them might look like, to questions about how and where they would even have met.

Alonso has clearly seen the posts doing the rounds about them too, and responded by posting a short video on TikTok of him scrolling through his phone with Swift’s song, ‘Karma’, playing in the background – a well-known word for Alonso fans, too, given that was his famed radio response to Renault’s Jolyon Palmer’s retirement from the Italian Grand Prix back in 2017.

While only a matter of seconds long, the Aston Martin driver is seen on TikTok sat down looking at his phone, before looking up and winking to camera before it cuts away.

Of course, this video did not confirm whether or not the online rumour from the weekend is true, but Alonso has once again proven he absolutely knows how to keep people talking when there hasn’t been any racing for several weeks.
