Reliability, stability and unity are the three key words to success for Ferrari this season, according to Italian journalist Carlo Vanzini.
The Italian press are continuing to react to Ferrari’s grand reveal of the SF1000 on Tuesday night as the Scuderia attempt once again to end their long-running title drought.
Ferrari revealed a more tightly-packed 2020 car compared to its predecessor as they look to address the aerodynamic weaknesses of last year and Vanzini said that will form a crucial part of whether the Prancing Horse will be successful this year.
“They have worked a lot on the car at Marenello,” Vanzini told Sky Sports Italy.
“The rear was tapered, the gearbox was made lighter, the wheelbase shortened, the power unit redone. But, aside from the technical innovations, how can you beat the competition?
“In the pursuit of performance, there must also be a search for reliability.
“Vettel also called Leclerc the driver to beat. We hope so, because it would mean seeing a very competitive Ferrari.
“The hope is that there is unity and also awareness in the race strategies, understanding that the position between the two drivers is not important, but it is more important that one of the two takes away the position and the points from who is contending for the title at that particular stage of the World Championship.
“Unity, of the whole team, is another key word, besides reliability and stability, in order to conquer the World Championship and to also be able to work on the car for 2021.”
