FP2: Not a single lap possible in second practice
Second practice for the Chinese Grand Prix never got underway on Friday as poor weather conditions meant the medical helicopter could not land at the designated hospital.
Following minimal running in FP1, the teams and drivers had hoped to make up for most time in the afternoon’s session at the Shanghai International Circuit but it was not to be.
The start was initially delayed because the medical helicopter was unable to land at the designated hospital.
The FIA announced that the session would still end at 3:30pm local time.

Halfway through the 90 minutes the drivers remained stuck in their garages with not a single time, or even lap, on the board.

But it was Stoffel Vandoorne’s fans who created the best banner.

As the clock counted down on the allotted 90 minutes, the only action was Lewis Hamilton leaving the pits to head to the grandstands where he signed caps before throwing them into the crowd.
