Yet to get off the mark this season, Antonio Giovinazzi admits he feels “so much pressure” to bag his first F1 points.
Giovinazzi, contesting his first full season in Formula 1 with Alfa Romeo, is the only driver aside from the Williams team-mates who has yet to get on the scoreboard this season.
The Italian fell just short in Bahrain where he was 11th, 0.9s shy of a point.
“I feel so much pressure from the Italians to take home my first points,” GPBlog reports him as having told Sky Italia.
But while Giovinazzi has yet to score, his team-mate Kimi Raikkonen managed points in the opening four races of this season.
However, like Giovinazzi, he also failed to get into the top ten last Sunday in Spain.
Giovinazzi says Alfa Romeo need to find a “solution” as they are missing something in their C38.
“We are trying to find a solution after a weekend that was not positive for either of us,” he said.
“But we are a great team and we have a good car, I am convinced.
“We need to find a way to put the whole package together and the results will come.”
